Can someone else vote on my behalf (proxy voting)?

A proxy vote is where you nominate someone else - a trusted family member or friend to vote for you.  It can be particularly useful if you are overseas in a country too far away to send back a postal vote in time for the election (for instance, if you are on holiday, in the Armed Forces or deployed overseas).  For you to vote by proxy, we need a completed application form from you.  That form asks you to tell us why you will not be able to vote in person and it asks for the name and address of your proxy.

A proxy poll card is sent out to your appointed proxy.
