Virtual tour

Project partners GSS Architecture have produced a virtual reality tour, which allows viewers to take a glimpse inside the museum and art gallery, and navigate through a selection of the soon-to–be refurbished and extended spaces.

The tour includes seven separate viewpoints, to show the important connecting spaces between the galleries, but does not cover the entirety of the redevelopment works.

GSS Architecture, appointed by the Borough Council as architects, lead consultants and principal designers, are working with Wildgoose Construction to undertake the transformation.

The remodelling adds a modern extension, connecting the existing museum and Old Gaol Block. The extension will house a café and link space, along with a new shoe gallery, showcasing the museum’s world renowned collection. The Old Gaol Block development will include a new temporary exhibition gallery and events space.
