Grants to help local support groups and organisations
Northampton not-for-profit organisations, community groups and charities can now apply for Northampton Borough Council’s Small Grants Fund aiming to support them do positive work in the community.
The fund offers grants between £250 and £3,000 to registered charities, unregistered voluntary or community groups, registered charitable companies charitable incorporated organisations and social enterprises.
The grant is designed to help small Northampton based voluntary and community organisations to deliver local projects or activities, such as community events, training and equipment.
To be eligible for the grant, the organisation must be able to demonstrate how the funded project will meet at least one of the Council’s priorities:
- Keeping the town and people safe
- Empowering local people
- More homes, better homes
A stronger economy:
- Shaping place and driving growth
- Creating a thriving, vibrant town
- A clean, green and tidy town
Councillor Brandon Eldred, Cabinet member for finance, said: “The Small Grants Fund can make a real difference in supporting local charitable and support organisations to continue the work they do to make a real difference in our community.
“We are looking forward to receiving applications and seeing the projects develop for the benefit of our local communities.”

The Small Grant Funds are available four times each year, the closing date for this round of applications is Friday, 11 September 2020.
In addition, community organisations and groups that have been directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, registered a loss or have not been able to fundraise as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic can submit an application for a grant between £250 and £500 under the Councillor COVID Community Fund.
Applications for the Councillor COVID Community Funds should be submitted by 31 October 2020.
