Abington Park Museum to close until further notice

Published: Wednesday, 18 March 2020

Abington Park Museum will temporarily close its doors from 5pm today (Wednesday, 18 March 2020) until further notice due to the current and emerging situation around Coronavirus (COVID-19).

This decision is in line with the latest advice from the Government and Public Health England to limit non-essential travel and social contact.

All current events and activities have also been cancelled. Customers who booked a ticket on Eventbrite will be contacted directly over the coming weeks to arrange refunds. If tickets have been booked in person, please email your details to [email protected] or call 01604 838111.

Councillor Anna King, cabinet member for community engagement and safety, said: “ We've made the difficult decision to close our doors and suspend all of our activities, events, and regular groups until further notice, but our absolute priority is the health and safety of our visitors and staff.

“We thank you for your patience and your continued support during this unpredictable time.

"Given the uncertainty, we are all facing, it is not possible to say when our museum will be able to re-open to visitors. But we want to encourage the public to see our digitised oil paintings and our sculpture collections on the Art UK website: https://artuk.org/discover/artworks/view_as/grid/search/collections:northampton-museums-and-art-gallery/page/3.”
