Event to showcase local services and support

Published: Thursday, 17 January 2019

An event showcasing local community and voluntary support services will help to launch the 2019/20 Partnership Grant Fund application period.

The event will take place in The Guildhall on Wednesday 23 January and aims to highlight the projects and services that were supported by Northampton Borough Council’s Partnership Fund Grants during 2018.

Nine local organisations who received support last year, including Northampton Men’s Sheds, Spencer Contact, Northamptonshire Rape Crisis, ReStore Northampton and Homestart Northampton, will be taking part in the market place style event, which will open between 3.30pm and 4.30pm.

In addition, a training session, providing information about the Partnership Fund Grant application process and partnership working, will take place after the showcase at 4.30pm, to help any organisations or groups that might be considering applying for a grant during the next financial year.

Councillor Anna King, Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, said: “The Partnership Fund Grant showcase is a great opportunity for local groups to celebrate projects and services delivered over the past year and to promote their achievements.

“There are some really fantastic groups in Northampton who support people in need and make our local communities better and our Partnership Fund Grant can really make a difference by helping them to continue their great work. We encourage any groups who are not yet signed up to the scheme, to come along to the event to find out more about how to apply.”

The Partnership Fund Grant Scheme is designed help improve local communities by supporting services and support provided by voluntary and community organisations.

Applications for the Partnership Fund Grant must be for a minimum of £3,000 and will be accepted from registered charities, unregistered voluntary or community groups, registered charitable companies limited by guarantee and Social Enterprises.
