Residents to help improve facilities at Thornton Park

The views of local park goers in Kingsthorpe are currently being sought to help improve the facilities at Thornton Park.
A short survey by Northampton Borough Council aims to gather residents’ thoughts on how best section 106 funding can be used to improve equipment at this well-used green space.
In the survey, people are able to choose from a list of equipment, including picnic tables, benches, a trim trail set and a disabled swing. They also have the option to make suggestions not included in the list and give ideas to where items such as picnic tables and benches should be located.
Councillor Anna King, Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, said: “Thornton Park’s play area and large green fields are really popular with local families and dog walkers alike.
“To ensure any improvements made reflect the needs of the local community, it is essential that we get the opportunity to hear thoughts and ideas from those that use the space. That’s why we’re encouraging as many people as possible to complete our survey in the next six weeks.”
Anyone who would like to contribute to the planned improvements at Thornton’s Park can complete the survey until Monday, 17 December.
After reviewing the results of the survey, it is expected that the improvement works will take place during spring 2019.
