Residents invited to meet the new waste and recycling teams
Residents are invited to find out more about the new environmental services contract during two awareness events on Wednesday 30 and Thursday 31 May.
People will be able to meet members of the Veolia and idverde teams on the Market Square ahead of Northampton’s new environmental services and park maintenance contract beginning on 4 June.
Between 10.30am and 4.30pm on both days, Veolia and idverde will be on-hand along with members of Kingdom’s environmental enforcement team. All will be available to answer any questions you might have about the town centre, our parks or your area, as well as to provide information about how the service will run from 4 June.
Children will also get the chance to meet Munch the recycling truck. Munch will be reminding us all of the importance of recycling by sharing details of what recyclables he can and can’t eat.
Cllr Mike Hallam, Cabinet member for environment, said: “Making Northampton a cleaner and safer place to live, work and visit, has been top of the agenda, as we developed the new environmental services with Veolia and Idverde.
“Our awareness events, later this month, will provide everyone with the perfect opportunity to meet the teams and find out more about how services will run from 4 June, and in the future.
“We encourage people to come along and join us on the Market Square.
Keith McGurk, Regional Director for Veolia said: “Veolia is looking forward to meeting Northampton Borough's residents and communicating all the changes happening from 4 June when Veolia takes the contract over. We want local residents to make the most of their new recycling services and wish to use this opportunity to advertise as much as we can."
