Northampton Museums and Art Gallery are calling for transport enthusiasts to display their collections at a Transport Day on Saturday, 2 June, between 1pm and 5pm at Abington Park Museum.

All kinds of transport collections are welcome, including air, land and sea, models and full size vehicles, both historic and modern.

Exhibitors already confirmed for the event include the Hannington Village Tractor Club, the New Silverstone Experience, Rushden Heritage Transport Society and the Vintage Motor Cycle Club.

Visitors will also be able to see a working Bassett-Lowke gauge one model railway in action and sail model boats on the park’s boating lake, provided by the Hollowell Model Yacht Club.

Finally, Northampton Transport Heritage will be offering short rides on original 1940’s buses throughout the afternoon.

Councillor Anna King, Cabinet member for community engagement and safety said: “This is set to be a great day for all the family to experience transport from the past, present and future, and an opportunity for collectors to share their enthusiasm.”

Collectors should contact Rebecca Lucas on 01604 838626 or email [email protected] for an application pack. Applications need to be returned by Friday, 27 April.
