Influence the future of your museum service
Anyone who would like to influence the future of the museum service in Northampton has been invited to apply to be part of a consultative focus group.
Northampton Museums and Art Gallery (NMAG) is working with The Audience Agency to conduct research to inform its future plans.
This research includes consultation on the site plans and facilities, ideas for exhibitions and events, as well wider discussions around what else visitors do in their leisure time and reasons for visiting, or not visiting.
Cllr Anna King, Northampton Borough Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, said: “We are firmly into the planning stages for our revamped museum in Guildhall Road and are taking this opportunity to ensure that meets as broad a spectrum of needs and aspirations as possible.
“This will be a true community space, a meeting place and a thriving hub of activity as well as a museum and exhibition venue.
“I would urge everyone to consider seeking an opportunity to influence how plans for the building and service develop in the coming months.”
Anyone interested should fill in the survey at https://research.audiencesurveys.org/s.asp?k=151551323132 and those chosen to take part in the focus groups will be informed directly in due course.
The focus groups will take place on either Wednesday, 31 January, or Thursday, 1 February, between 4pm and 5.30pm or 6pm and 7.30pm at the Guildhall in St Giles Square, Northampton.
Final timings will be decided once participants have been selected. It will be a relaxed and informal conversation with up to ten people facilitated by independent research company The Audience Agency.
The groups will last for a maximum of 90 minutes, and those selected to take part will receive £40 as a thank you for their time.
