More small business support on the cards
Small businesses can benefit from a morning of advice and networking this week thanks to an event taking place at the Park Inn by Radisson.
Northampton Borough Council worked with The University of Bedfordshire and NatWest to organise the business advice and networking event as part of a roadshow.
It will include a session with Google Digital Garage to help with all things online including social media, web presence and search engine optimisation. Attendees will also be able to find out about the University’s ICT Escalator funding programme.
Cllr Tim Hadland, Northampton Borough Council Cabinet member for regeneration, enterprise and planning, said: “Small businesses need all the help they can get, even if it’s just in the form of training and advice.
“We do our best to make sure these opportunities are available and working with a range of partners means we can provide all the more support.”
The ICT Escalator project is an EU-funded, providing support to small and medium sized businesses by offering free consultancy, graduate placements and grants subject to eligibility.
Kola Akinola, the University’s ICT Escalator business project manager, said: “This is an opportunity for businesses to find out more about ICT Escalator and also other support that is available for SMEs.
“There will also be opportunities for networking and a number of local businesses will be exhibiting on the day.”
The event – running from 9am to 2pm on Thursday, 7 December – directly complements the Borough Council’s activity around Small Business Saturday which took place at the weekend.
