Northampton’s busy Christmas programme continues on Sunday, 3 December with the annual Frost Fair and Christmas parade.
Opening on the Market Square from 11am, more than 45 local produce and craft stalls will enable visitors to shop until they drop for unique gift ideas and seasonable treats. Stalls confirmed for the day include: The Cake Kitchen, Bloomin’ Scents, The Amazing Gift Shop, The Cornish Fudge Bar and Roxy Stained Glass. In addition, there will be stalls offering Christmas wreaths and decorations, cards and wrapping paper, vegan chocolate treats and handmade art.
Music and entertainment on the Market Square stage, will help to provide a festive background for shoppers to enjoy while they browse stalls until they close at 4pm.
In addition, Santa will be making a special visit to the fair as part of the annual Christmas parade. Setting off from The Deco Theatre at 1pm, Santa will journey down Abington Street to the Market Square, where he will loop around the Frost Fair stalls, before being delivered to the stage, ready for a festive sing-song.
Cabinet member for community engagement and safety, Cllr Anna King, said: “The Christmas programme for this year offers so many fantastic family-friendly activities and treats, and this weekend’s Frost Fair and parade is no exception.
“We hope that visitors take advantage of our free parking offer and head to the Market Square to enjoy some shopping and get into the Christmas spirit.”
