Community awareness event to mark World Health Day in Northampton
Northampton Market Square is hosting a community event on Friday 7 April to help mark World Health Day, an annual awareness day celebrated across the globe.
Visitors to the town centre will be able to view the stalls of ten local charity and community organisations between 10am and 3pm, to gain more information about the health services available to them.
Organisations taking part in the event include the Alzheimer’s Society, Northampton Association for the Blind, Call Care and Trilogy Leisure, who will be running a competition a to win a free gym pass.
Cllr Phil Larratt, Deputy Leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “We hope that the town’s residents will join us at this important awareness raising event, to find out more about our local support services and to take advantage of having so much information available in one place.”
“We are really pleased to be marking World Health Day in Northampton and with the increase in visitors to the town centre, the central location of the Market Square makes it the perfect venue for such an event.
