Lighting improvements planned for Mayorhold Car Park
Northampton Borough Council will be improving the lighting in Mayorhold Car Park during September
The work on the lighting, which will take four weeks to complete, will begin on Monday 5 September and will affect access to some car parking spaces during this time.
The Council will be replacing the current lights in the Mayorhold with longer lasting LED lights, making them a more cost efficient solution for the car park.
The improvements will be carried out level by level, to cause as little disruption to the car park as possible. Visitors using the car park however, should be prepared for up to half a level to be blocked off from use each week day.
The road ways of each car parking level will remain open so that visitors to the town centre can still access all the floors of the car park during the work, which will not affect weekend parking.
Car park charges will still apply while the work takes place.
The time table of the lighting improvements to be carried out are as follows:
Week beginning | Floor affected |
5 September | Basement |
12 September | Ground floor |
19 September | First floor |
26 September | Second floor |
Other car parks in the town centre will be available during September for visitors to use, the closest include:
- Grosvenor multi-storey car park
- St John multi-storey car park
- St Michael’s multi-storey car park
