Public display for Greyfriars proposals

Published: Monday, 11 July 2016

Development proposals for the Greyfriars site in Northampton town centre will go on display to the public next week (w/c July 18).

Two developers have put forward schemes for development on the central, four-acre site. Both are mixed-use schemes that include a mix of commercial and residential uses.

The proposals will be put on display to the public from 12 noon on Monday 18 July until 5.30pm on Wednesday 20 July in the Court Room at the Guildhall. Visitors will be able to see what the schemes could look like and understand how they link to the rest of the town centre, as well as leaving their comments, which will be fed back to the developers.

Final recommendations on which scheme will be taken forward are to be discussed by the Borough Council’s Cabinet in September.

Cllr Tim Hadland, Cabinet Member for Planning, Regeneration and Enterprise, said: “I am looking forward to putting these proposals for Greyfriars on display, and getting feedback. I hope as many people as possible will attend and share their views on the schemes.”

The display will be open at the following times:
Monday 18 July 12 noon-5.30pm
Tuesday 19 July 9am-5.30pm
Wednesday 20 July 9am-5.30pm
