Plans are underway to hold a monthly market for local producers at Northampton’s Market Square.

The market, which will be in addition to the existing market, will start on Saturday 30 July from 9am to 5pm and will continue on the last Saturday of every month.

Local food and drink producers have already signed up to take part and include Bite Me Spices, Saxby’s Cider and the Happy Little Cake Company.

Producers of all types from across Northamptonshire are being encouraged to express interest in taking part to sell their wares at the monthly event on Northampton Market.

Councillor Jonathan Nunn, deputy leader of Northampton Borough Council, said: “Following discussions and meetings with several local producers, businesses have told us that they would like to join together to form a monthly local producers’ market. We are really looking forward to discovering some of the fantastic products made by local businesses and would encourage as many local producers as possible to sign up to take part.”

Any local producers interested in taking part should contact Charlie Childs, market manager, on 07771 930475 or by email at: [email protected]
