Week of Action at Kings Heath
A week of free events and activities is set to take place at various locations across Kings Heath Northampton, from Saturday 25 June to Friday 1 July.
The activities are organised by the Northampton Community Safety Partnership as part of its week of action programme and will include a variety of activities for the whole family. As part of the planned events, the Community Safety Partnership will be consulting with local people to find out what they think about their area and what issues they have. Advice will also be available on personal, family and property safety. There will also be environmental improvements ongoing throughout the week with Community Payback and Neighbourhood Wardens cutting back shrubs, litter picking and generally tidying localised areas.
Organised by partners from the Borough Council, Police, NPH and other agencies, the planned activities include:
- Youth engagement and sports activities
- Crime prevention and home security advice
- Rubbish removal and community clean-up activities
- Community Payback, carrying out landscaping improvements and other clean-up activities
A team of employees from Travis Perkins Managed Services are supporting this worthwhile week through the painting of shop fronts at Kings Heath. Maggie Devine, Social Value Manager said: “We are always looking at ways that we can help support our local community. Taking part in the clean-up operation is a great way to give something back, which benefits all sections of the community".
Mike Hallam, Cabinet Member for Community Safety said “The week of action at Kings Heath is a great opportunity for local residents to get help and advice from a variety of different agencies whilst taking part in a local resident’s consultation. It is a fantastic chance for local people to come together to help improve their community.”
