Funding announced for local agencies, charities and community groups

Northampton Borough Council has allocated £550,000 to support local agencies, charities and community groups that help people in Northampton.

The council has awarded partnership funding to 29 organisations to support them with their work to support people across the borough.

Over recent years the council has made millions of pounds available to non-profit organisations and groups that offer practical support, advice and guidance to people in Northampton.

Councillor Brandon Eldred, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for community engagement, said: “There are many excellent groups throughout the borough who work hard to support local communities and people in need. With so many excellent groups working hard we are always faced with difficult decisions when making funding decisions but we are pleased to be able to support 29 different local organisations this year – four more than last year. We know that the grants allocated will help organisations to make a difference to the lives of many people across the town.”

The organisations awarded grants from Northampton Borough Council are:

A further £150,000 has been allocated towards information and advice services through a grant to the Citizens Advice Bureau and Community Law Service, bringing the full total to £550,000.
