Community Safety Week of Action in Bellinge

Published: Wednesday, 06 April 2016

A week of free events and activities is set to take place in Bellinge from 11 April to 19 April.

As part of the Community Safety Week of Action you can join in a variety of activities and fun days.

During the week of events, and outside the local shops, the Community Safety Team will be consulting with local people to find out what they think about their area and what issues they have. Advice will be available on keeping you, your family and your property safe.

There will also be environmental improvements ongoing throughout the week with Community Payback and Neighbourhood Wardens cutting back shrubs, litter picking and generally tidying up the area.

Organised by partners from the borough council, police, NHS and other agencies, the full programme of activities will include:

Wednesday 13 April, 9.30am – 12pm:
Ladies' pamper session at the Bellinge Community House with a variety of women’s agencies on hand to answer questions as well as the opportunity to try out a new hair style or get their nails painted.

Wednesday 13 April, 2pm – 4pm:
The RSPCA will be carrying out reduced cost dog micro-chipping at £3 per dog. The law changed on 6 April and all dogs over the age of 8 weeks must be micro-chipped or owners may face criminal prosecution and have to pay a fine of up to £500. Cover yourself for the intervening period by getting your dog booked in – email:

Councillor Anna King, Northampton Borough Council cabinet member for community safety, said: “This week of action is a great way for agencies to come together and give people advice on staying safe and helping them to improve their community. There will be plenty of information available for people along with some great giveaways and fun events for all the family.”
