The awards celebrate the unsung heroes of Northampton and highlight the hard work and achievements of people across the borough making a difference in their local community.

Last year saw Simran Ali, Robin Ward and Debbie Smith receive awards for their outstanding work and dedication.

Mayor of Northampton, Councillor Penelope Flavell, said: “The Heart of the Community Awards are an opportunity for everyone in Northampton to join together and say a big thank you to the fantastic people who strive to improve the lives of others.

“We have had some excellent nominations so far but we would really like to encourage anyone who knows an unsung hero to make a nomination so that we can recognise their hard work in the community.”

Nominations are accepted until Friday 11 March and can be submitted online at: http://www.northampton.gov.uk/heartofthecommunity

More information is also available from the Mayor’s office by calling 01604 837804 or emailing [email protected]

All nominations will be considered by a panel of independent judges and the winners will be invited to a celebration event at The Guildhall in April.
