Borough council encourages local businesses to get involved with Clean for The Queen
Northampton Borough Council is writing to local businesses to ask them to take part in the Clean for The Queen initiative and to give them some more information about plans for supporting the event.
The Queen celebrates her 90th birthday in April this year and to mark this event a number of organisations and companies have come together to organise a series of litter-picks over the weekend of 4 – 6 March.
Northampton Borough Council is supporting Clean for The Queen and as part of their local campaign they are encouraging local businesses to get involved in helping to improve the areas where they are based. The council’s Neighbourhood Wardens can assist in the coordination of the events and can provide litter picking equipment and bags and arrange for their collection.
Councillor Alan Bottwood, cabinet member for Environment, said, “Northampton Borough Council want to use the opportunity provided by the Clean for The Queen campaign to encourage a sense of pride among the people of Northampton and we recognise that we all have a part to play in making our town a pleasant place to live and work.”
