How to make the most of your visit

Planning for us to visit you

In this section you will find information on how to plan and book a facilitated visit by a member of museum staff to your school.

Our in school sessions are delivered by a museum learning facilitator in your classroom or suitable space within your school.

Visit details

Each visit is for two hours and can accommodate one class of up to 35 students per hour. 

Additional classes may be added to your visit. We can deliver a maximum of four classes in one day. This would be delivered as two classes in the morning and two in the afternoon.

Visit cost

One visit (two hours) costs £275 plus mileage costs charged at 0.45p per mile from NN1 1DP

Cost of additional classes:

One additional class of up to 35 students (one hour long) - £100

Two additional classes of up to 70 students (35 per hour - two hours long) - £150

How to book

All in school sessions must be pre-booked using the online booking form.

A minimum of three weeks’ notice is requested.

You will need to provide the following information when making your booking:

Your contact details - the school name and adress including the postcode, telephone number of the school and the email address.  You may also wish to provide us with your mobile number for ease of getting in contact with you.

Your preferred and alternative dates, just in case we cannot accommodate you on your preferred date.

The number of classes and year group of the students you want the visit for.

Teacher student ratios

Students must be supervised at all times. A member of school staff must be present in the room where the museum session is taking place.

Covid-19: How we are keeping you safe

We have throughly risk assessed all of our learning activities and put into practice Covid-19 measures to ensure the visits can go ahead safely. Once you have booked, health and safety guidance and procedures are provided to help with your visit. All teachers should also complete their own risk assessment.
