How to make the most of your visit

Planning an onsite visit to the museum

In this section you will find information on how to make planning your visit to either Northampton Museum and Art Gallery or Abington Park Museum easier.

Arranging a preliminary visit

To make sure you get the most out of your visit, we recommend that teachers arrange a pre-visit to plan practical details and carry out their risk assessments to help in preparing other adults and pupils before they arrive.

Risk assessments

We have thoroughly risk assessed all of our learning activities. We have assessed all activities and put into practice Covid-19 measures to ensure the visits can go ahead safely. Once you have booked, health and safety guidance and procedures are provided to help with your visit. All teachers should also complete their own risk assessment.

How to find us

You can find information on our location, travel arrangements, opening times and accessiility on our visit us pages. There are no dedicated coach parking facilities at our museums. There are drop off points on Derngate for NMAG and coaches will need to find alternative parking, at APM coaches can drop off and park on Park Avenue South.
