Access to Abington Park Museum

Entry to the museum is free for everyone. Donations are gratefully accepted.

Getting here

Public transport

Northampton is served by bus services into the town centre. The North Gate Bus Station is located at Bradshaw Street, NN1 3B2
The Northampton Railway Station is located at Black Lion Hill, Northampton, Northamptonshire, NN1 1SP

Abington has regular bus services from the town centre.

Parking

There is no onsite parking. There is free on street parking available on the roads surrounding Abington Park.

Museum entrance

The museum entrance is located to the front of the building. It has level access.

Lifts and access to galleries

There are no lifts at Abington Park Museum. The ground floor galleries are accessible to wheelchair users and buggys.

Accessible toilets

View locations of accessible toilets, baby changing and baby feeding areas on the museum map or pick up a free paper copy on arrival from reception. Accessible toilets are available to the rear of the building at the end of the Abington Galleries. We don't have a Changing Places toilet on site. The nearest Changing Places toilet is located at North Gate Bus Station, Bradshaw Street, Northampton, NN1 3B2

Seating

Seating is provided in various places through out the building.

Floor levels

Abington Museum is an historic building and the floor levels change frequently throughout the building.

Hearing enhancement system

There are no hearing enhancement systems in Abington Park Museum.

Assistance animals

Assistance animals are welcome in the museum as long as they are working and are wearing their tabards or harness. Owners should bring the animal's Assistance Dogs (UK) identification book (or the appropriate international equivalent) with them. Dog bowls and water are available on request at the reception desk. Assistance animals must be kept with you at all times. The nearest toilet/toileting area for guide, assistant and companion animals is located in Abington Park.
