For November a tethered bull is about to be slaughtered and butchered by a peasant with an axe. It was difficult and expensive to feed livestock through the winter at this time so most of it was killed to be eaten. Three figures at a table represent December. Three figures usually symbolise the past, present and future. Here they represent the closing of the old year and the beginning of the new.
