In this depiction of March a peasant digs drainage ditches. Behind him you can see that he has pruned and tied up vines. To celebrate April a peasant is sowing and behind him a harrow is pulled by horses and guided by a ploughman with a stick. In other labours series this scene will often appear later on in the year, but crops could have been sown from April.
