Primary Authority Partnerships

The Primary Authority Partnership scheme ensures that companies trading across different regulatory fields have access to reliable and robust advice, improved and consistent approach to how local regulations are applied through local regulators and to reducing red tape.

These partnerships are legally recognised and allow a business to approach a local authority to act as its single point of contact (primary authority) for those regulatory functions the local authority has responsibilities for. We regulate businesses for:

  • food safety and hygiene
  • health and safety compliance
  • licensing and registrations
  • environmental protection

If you are a business, charity or other organisation you could be eligible to approach Commercial Services to be considered to form a Primary Authority Partnership with the borough.
