The government requires local authorities to promote data transparency and encourages councils to publish certain information concerning land and property assets to help inform residents and businesses.

Land at Sixfields

West Northamptonshire Council is considering entering into an agreement to sell land at Sixfields to County Developments Northampton Limited, which is owned by Northampton Town Football Club. The documents available from the link below form the basis for the proposal and the matter will be considered at Full Council on 2 December and then Cabinet on 7 December 2021.

Once we have agreed full terms with the proposed developers, we will obtain a further report from Lambert Smith Hampton checking that, under the proposed deal, taxpayers would receive the best price they reasonably could for the land.

The following data gives information about of our land and property assets as at the July 2018. This will be updated from time to time, in accordance with the relevant regulatory requirements.

The file contains the following information

  • Unique Property Reference Number
  • Unique Asset Identity Name of building/land or both
  • Street number of numbers
  • Street name
  • Postcode
  • Easting and Northing
  • Whether asset is freehold or leasehold and characteristics that apply to each as a sub category
  • Whether asset is land only or it is land with a permanent building
  • Tabs for purchased and sold assets since 2015 (the date of first publication under the transparency code)
The tenure details column is currently being reviewed to include a better description. The column should be concluded for the next scheduled update in early 2019.
