Conflict and Community project
- Visit the Conflict & Community digital archive containing over 350 objects, documents and oral history clips relating to Northampton during the First World War:
A resource for anyone interested in the history of Northampton. Northampton Museums & Art Gallery hold extensive social and military history collections associated with the First World War. The items illustrate life on the home front and the front line and provide an insight into the lives of soldiers from the Northamptonshire Regiment and Northamptonshire Yeomanry.
The digital archive was created as part of a project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund which commemorated the First World War and there has been a wide range of activities that have taken place across Northampton with participants, volunteers and visitors sharing experiences with others. The project has included a major exhibition, two unique newly commissioned community theatre performances, family days, symposia, lectures and other events and learning programmes. Thank you to all 142 volunteers who took part in the project..
