Conflict and Community
Conflict and Community Project
We are currently working on a project which commemorates the 100th anniversary of the First World War.
'Conflict and Community - Northampton Remembers the First World War' has so far featured the 'Made In Northampton' production of 'Regeneration', as well as other specially commissioned family days, history sessions and educational activities.
There has been a wide range of activities that have taken place across Northampton with participants, volunteers and visitors sharing experiences with others. The project has included a major exhibition, high quality community focused theatre experiences, family days, events and learning programmes.
The final stage of the project involves creating a collection of oral history family stories and a digital archive of objects, photographs and documents relating to the First World War. There will also be a series of events and talks throughout 2018 to highlight key collection items and explore the history of Northampton during the First World War.
We are looking for volunteers to help the project with research, digitising collections and helping with the archive. If you would like to get involved please email Rachael Abbiss - the Conflict and Community Project Officer: email@example.com
