Unwanted recycling boxes

Please leave your unwanted recycling boxes at the kerbside, as Veolia are collecting daily. Alternatively, you can use your boxes for storage or additional recycling alongside your new recycling bin.

Activities & workshops for children

Alternatively, the Abington Park Museum ticket booking line is open during school holidays Tuesday to Sunday 1 – 5pm April to October and 12 – 4pm November to March. WW1 Centenary Workshop

Tuesday 23 October
1.10-2.10pm, 2.20-3.20pm, (the 3.30-4.30pm session has been cancelled)
Abington Park MuseumWWI Centenary Workshop
Join us at Abington Park Museum and take part in craft activities to mark 100 years since the end of World War I.
Make felt poppies and your own felt medal, and learn about the sacrifices made in WWI. Decorate a paper bunting flag in memory of those who died in WWI for us to keep and display at our Armistice Day event on the Market Square on Sunday 11 November.

Suitable for children aged five and over.

Day of the Dead Workshop

Thursday 25 October
Spaces available on 1.15-2pm & 2.15-3pm sessions (2.15 & 3.15 sessions fully booked)
Abington Park Museum
Come and learn about the Mexican festival Dia de Muertos, or Day of the Dead, a festival which remembers and honours loved ones who have died.
Paint a sugar skull tea light holder, decorate a sugar skull mask and make a traditional headdress or hat.

Tour by Torch Light

Join us for an exclusive after hours tour of Abington Park Museum, especially for children!
Take a tour by torch light around our galleries, look out for clues to help us solve our spooky Halloween mystery.
After the tour, settle down for some spooky stories over candle light.
Not suitable for children who are afraid of the dark or get spooked easily!
Tour is for children only. Parents may stay at the event, but will be asked to remain in the function room whilst children go on the tour.

Halloween

Haunted Halloween

Saturday 27 October
11am-4pm
Abington Park Museum
Join us for a spooktacular day of fun with scary craft activities and a haunted trail around the museum. Try the witches' brew at the refreshments stall if you dare.
Come dressed in your scariest costume. 
Suitable for children aged eight and over.

Victorian Christmas

11.30am - 3.30pm
Abington Park Museum
Experience Victorian Christmas at Abington and see Santa Claus at this family friendly event. There will be carol singing, hot roast and Christmas crafts including making paper chains, crackers and salt dough ornaments.
