Job and volunteer opportunities
Volunteer at Northampton Museums and Art Gallery
We have developed COVID-19 safe working practices for staff and work has begun on the Museum installation. Given the changing situation with COVID-19 and the increase in safety measures, we have unfortunately had to take the decision that we are not going to be able to use volunteers to assist with the project this year or in any other volunteer role. We need to ensure a safe working environment for everyone and your safety is our main objective.
We will keep an eye on what happens with Covid in Northamptonshire and the national situation and we do hope we will be able to welcome volunteers back into various roles once it is safe to do so.
Come back soon to find out about our exciting opportunities.

Loans, donations and bequests
If you have an object of historical interest, which relates to the history of the region, or to collections already held by Northampton Museums, and would like to donate it to us, please contact us at [email protected]
You must make an appointment to bring your item along, so that you can be sure that you get to speak to a member of the museums staff. We will make a decision on whether to accept your offer based on existing collections, our collecting policy, legislation and council policy.
If the item is not suitable for the museum collection we sometimes ask if you would be willing to donate it to our Education Service who hold a number of original items that are used during educational visits.
If we are not able to accept the item, we may be able to put you in touch with someone who can.
