Neighbourhood Forum and Neighbourhood Area applications in Northampton

A Neighbourhood Area is the area to which a Neighbourhood Plan applies. Before work begins on preparing the Plan, the parish council or Neighbourhood Forum must apply to us to designate the boundary of the Neighbourhood Area.

Once an Area and Forum are designated, no other organisation may be designated for that Neighbourhood Area, until that designation expires or is withdrawn.

Making comments on an application

We are the body responsible for determining Neighbourhood Area and Neighbourhood Forum applications.

Each application will be published for a 6 week consultation period, during which time individuals and organisations may submit comments to us. These comments will be taken into account when making a decision on an application.

During consultation periods comments can be made either electronically or by letter to us. If you would like to be added to our planning consultation database please get in touch.
