Central Area Action Plan (CAAP)
The Central Area Action Plan (CAAP)is a Plan that provides specific planning policy and guidance for Northampton town centre and adjoining areas where significant regeneration or investment is proposed in the period up to 2026.

2012 | Inspector's Report | |
Following the independent examination of the Northampton CAAP by the appointed Planning Inspector Mr Mike Fox BA (Hons) Dip TP MRTPI. The Final Report was received by the Council on 12 November 2012. The report concluded that Northampton CAAP was "sound" and legally compliant subject to a number of modifications which were recommended by the Inspector. The Council published these modifications for representation as part of the Examination process from 20th September to 2nd November 2012. The Inspector considered representations made prior to completing his Final Report. The Northampton CAAP was amended based on the Inspector's Report and recommended main modifications, and taken to Cabinet and Full Council for adoption. The Report can be viewed below. |

As part of the examination process, a Pre-Hearing Meeting took place on the 10th July 2012, the purpose of which was to discuss procedural arrangements and afforded representors the opportunity to raise any procedural matters directly with the Inspector. |

2011 | Focused Changes Consultation | |
After the Regulation 27 Consultation stage additional evidence came forward which affected some of the policies which had been published through the Pre-Submission CAAP. This resulted in a requirement for the Council to publish a Schedule of Focused Changes to the CAAP and an addendum to the supporting Sustainability Appraisal. These documents were published for a 6-week consultation period which ended on 22 December 2011. |

2010 | Regulation 27 Consultation | |
The Pre-Submission Draft CAAP and Supporting Documents were published for a 6-week consultation, ending 16 December 2010. This publication complied with Regulation 27 of the Town and Country Planning (Local Development) (England) (Amendment) Regulations 2008. |
