Background

As part of our commitment to sharing information on greenhouse gas emissions and addressing climate change, we have published our Carbon Trust Standard footprint report for the certification period of April 2010 to March 2012.

This data has been produced following guidance provided by the Carbon Trust based on the principles of the GHG protocol.

Organisational boundary

All of our operations including subsidiaries are included within the organisational boundary, except for council houses where utilities are the responsibility of tenants.

Carbon footprint measurement

The following emissions are included for all premises within our organisational boundary:

• Electricity consumption
• Gas consumption
• Other onsite fuel consumption (e.g. heating oil)
• Fuel consumption in vehicles owned or leased by the organisation
