The Gambling Act 2005 makes it a duty for a local authority to carry out its functions under the Act with a view to promoting the three licensing objectives:

  • Preventing gambling from being a source of crime or disorder, being associated with crime or disorder or being used to support crime
  • Ensuring that gambling is conducted in a fair and open way, and
  • Protecting children and other vulnerable persons from being harmed or exploited by gambling

The purpose of the Policy Statement is to detail how we will comply with that duty.

If you wish to make any comments on the draft Policy Statement, please ensure they are returned in writing to the address below or by email to [email protected] by 1 February 2019.
