Emergency planning

Northampton Borough Council works in partnership with many agencies to prepare for potential emergencies across the borough. These could involve issues such as flooding, industrial accidents or pollution. Our partnership working is under the umbrella of the Local Resilience Forum’ (LRF).

We also work with Northamptonshire County Council to offer a 24/7 response in support of actual emergencies. In the past year, we have responded to incidents such as a vehicle crashing into a house, potential flooding at Billing Aquadrome and water pollution.

Northampton Borough Council takes a committed role in emergency stewardship seriously, and is presently supporting work of benefit to the entire county.

Community resilience

Community Resilience is about communities using local resources and knowledge to help themselves during an emergency in a way that complements the local emergency services. Find out more.
