Apply to volunteer in the Nightshelter

This form has a maximum of 6 pages

Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at the Nightshelter.

The Nightshelter provides short-term, emergency shelter for men who are sleeping rough, or are at imminent risk of sleeping rough, in Northampton. Although the facilities are quite basic - mattresses on the floor - this type of accommodation works well as an emergency facility, and is replicated as part of the town's severe weather provision when temperatures drop below freezing.

We are always looking to recruit volunteers who are available to work regular shifts on a rota to keep the Nightshelter staffed every night of the year between 9pm and 9am. Comprehensive training will be provided, but we are expecting our volunteers to be quite ordinary people doing a quite extraordinary job: restoring people's trust, offering hope and encouragement, rebuilding people's lives and helping us to end the need for people to sleep rough in Northampton.

Once we receive your application, a member of the team will telephone you to arrange an informal chat about the nightshelter, the role and the training, and to answer any questions you may have. We look forward to hearing from you!
