Medieval Mayhem
Join us at Abington Park Museum and the park for an action packed day for all the family, created by Historyneedsyou.
It's August, 1485, and supporters of King Richard III are gathering at Northampton to prepare for battle against the invader, Henry Tudor. Children of all ages are invited to come and meet the archers, men at arms and nobles in their spectacular armour. Experience medieval life and battle, be drilled and try your hand at knightly skills. Any unruly subjects may be punished by having cabbages thrown at them in the stocks! A wise woman will be on hand to heal the sick and demonstrate herbal cures, while a monk will teach you how to write with a quill pen.
With medieval music and hands-on activities for all to enjoy.
Suitable for all ages.
Activities will be taking place throughout the museum and in the park. Some activities may be on the first floor, accessed by stairs only.
Free admission.
