St Edmunds - English Heritage Listed Building Consultation
English Heritage are currently running a consultation on the proposed de-listing of the former St Edmunds Hospital in Wellingborough Road.
The Front Central Block of the building was listed in 1976, and an application has been made to The Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport to remove the listing.
English Heritage as the Government's statutory adviser on the historic environment have been asked, on behalf of the Secretary of State, to assess whether the building holds the special architectural or historic interest required in order to justify its inclusion on the Statutory List, and have consulted Northampton Borough Council as the local authority in which the building lies.
Northampton Borough Council are running this consultation in order to raise awareness of the application to remove the building from the statutory list and to provide you with the opportunity to make representations about the architectural and historic interest of the building.
