Venezia! has been two years in the making. It is probably the biggest cultural event Northampton has ever seen.
Northampton has one of the finest collections of Baroque and Rococo Venetian art in Britain today. Its collection has been the inspiration for Venezia!
The range of events and activities is simply fantastic. And the breadth of suport from individuals and organisations, not least our principal sponsor Hewitsons, is superb. Our sincere thanks go to them all for their support and generosity.
This is an exciting programme. We hope it will give immense pleasure to everyone - locals and visitors alike.

Message from the Chief Executive
I have seen the impact that projects like Venezia! have on communities. Cultural events bring communities together. They create a place that is inviting and exciting - a place where people want to be.
We are lucky in Northampton to have such a rich and varied heritage. Our town has many historical gems, including the Market Square, Delapre Abbey and 78 Derngate. It is also known for its parks, rugby, cricket, football, theatres and, of course, its two wonderful museums.
Developing cultural opportunities is a shared responsibility. Venezia! shows what can be achieved if we work together. Without the support of our sponsors it would not have been possible and so my thanks go to them.
