Instantly recognizable, leather is a unique material that has been used to make everything from buckets and boats to boots and belts!  Fashion, fetishism and the anti-kleather argument are all explored in this tactile and interactive exhibition that showcases items from Northampton's nationally Designated shoe colection and the Museum of Leathercraft.

The Shoemaker's Shrine

A highly atmospheric exhibition that pays homage to Northampton's shoe making heritage.  Delicate wax shoes created by artist Henny Burnett are hand suspended from the ceiling as the voices of Northampton shoemakers tell their stories.  See events section for related workshop.
