Northampton Bus Station

Northampton Bus Station can be found in the centre of the town, located close to the law courts and Upper Mounts car park.

The bus station operates at the following times:

5am to 11:30pm Monday to Saturday

8am to 11:30pm Sunday

The bus station is bordered by Lady's Lane and Greyfriars roads.

Only taxis and buses/official bus company vehicles and official council vehicles are permitted to drive into the bus station, private vehicles are not permitted to drive into the station.

How to get to the station

On foot
Pedestrian safety is of our utmost concern, any access to the bus station on foot must be through one of the subway entrances, these are accessed from the Grosvenor Shopping Centre, Market Square, The Drapery, Sheep Street, Wellington Street and off of Lady's Lane. Large signs and bright yellow arrows clearly show the bus station subway entrances.

Pedestrian access over the roadways is prohibited and extremely dangerous

Private car
If you are bringing passengers to the station by car to catch a bus or coach, the safest locations to drop passengers is either on the Upper Mounts car park or Victoria Street which runs alongside the Upper Mounts car park.

Your passengers can then use the spiral underpass to enter the station or the crossing opposite the car park that also leads to a subway entrance.

Passengers must not be dropped off on the slip road bus lane on Greyfriars, or the Grosvenor car park slip road as this puts them at risk of injury by placing them on the road.

Taxi
Taxis may enter the station to collect and drop off passengers, there is a taxi stop at Bay H and this is the only place where taxis can operate from.

Out of hours coach services

National Express coaches run services from Northampton at all times of the day and night.

As the bus station closes at 11:30pm any services running after this time will board and depart from Victoria Street, this ensures that customers are not crossing a dual carriageway and bus roadways to get to their services.
