1737 - Official Northampton Racecourse

1751 - Three day meets

1715 - 1818 - Site of public hangings

1844 - Northampton Racecourse Stand Company

1903 - Buffalo Bill Wild West Show

1904 - Last race

1912 - Developed as sports ground. Tennis lawns and bowling greens. W.G. Grace cricket

1914 - Army camp First World War

1917 - Used allotments

1921 - Racecourse improvements

1922 - New Happy Valley playground

1927 - Flowers and shrubs planted at east end for beautification

1930 - Old Racecourse stand connected to pavilion

1940 - 1946 - Second World War dispersed camp

1953 - Park restored

1974 - International Heat of Eurovision Contest, Jeux San Frontieres

1986 - Hard tennis courts established

1990 - The first Northampton Balloon Festival
