General Information

Parklands is situated approximately 1 mile from the Kettering Road and serves both the housing estate and new industrial area.

This large open space of some 28 acres was once owned by St Andrew's Hospital which held a large percentage of land within the town.  Its conversion from old agricultural land began in 1976 and there are now sport facilities, which include: -
  • 3 Junior Football Pitches
  • 2 Senior Football Pitches
  • 1 Changing Room 
There are also 2 play areas with extensive play equipment.

Events in park include: -
  • Football tournaments
  • Summer fetes
  • Community centre charity events
  • Multi-sport summer activities
Sixfields Lake holds events that include a triathlon and sponsored walks around the lake.

Acre Lane was once open farmland of around 12 acres, owned by George Davis, and is situated along the main Welford Road in the Kingsthorpe area. It contains facilities for both summer and winter sports and has an extensive children's playground. This park was developed to serve the estates on the Welford Road side of town.

There is provision for 5 senior football pitches and an extensive children's playground.

Far Cotton is opposite St Mary's Church on the Towcester Road, quite close to Delapre Gardens.

Facilities include: -
  • 2 senior football pitches
  • 1 changing room
  • 2 bowling greens
  • Children's recreation ground

Multi-sport activities are held in the summer.
