Dog

Beastly Machines 18 July - 6 September

Kinetic Sculptures by Johnny White 

Beastly Machines is a collection of kinetic sculptures by Derbyshire based sculptor Johnny White, featuring a menagerie of moving animals.

Inspired by current affairs and word play, White's work is always humorous and fun. The exhibition includes outrageous characters such as Fido Dogskiofski, Canoodling Canoe Gnus and Having a Whale of a Time - a six metre long moving whale - and lots of interactive activities for all the family. A  20 -21 Visual Arts Centre Touring Exhibition. 


SCCYC

Sikh - Punjabi Heritage Exhibition 6 June - 22 August

A chance to view Northampton's Sikh Community Centre and Youth Club exclusive Sikh - Punjabi Heritage Exhibition. Exhibits include stories from the Northampton Sikh Community; artefacts from projects that include Punjabi Pride, Weddings and the Sikh contribution to WW1. 


Alfie the Monkey

Celebrating 150 Years of Northampton Museums and Art Gallery

1st August to 15th November

Founded on 9th November 1865, this year Northampton Museum & Art Gallery celebrates its 150th Anniversary. 150 objects will tell the story of the museum and its unique collections from 1865 to the present day, and look to the future of the museum as it begins its exciting new development. This exhibition will feature well known objects that have been displayed at Northampton Museum and Art Gallery and Abington Park Museum over the years, as well as some less well known.

Highlights include a cobblestone thrown in the Northampton’s Election of 1874, Tete de Jeune Femme by Auguste Rodin and the ever popular Elephant boots.

Work by members of the Northamptonshire Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild

Sat 12 September –Sun 8 November

Showcasing traditional crewel and canvas work, machine embroidery and contemporary designs including paper and metal. Some exhibits are for sale.
