Northampton Museum & Art Gallery Celebrates Volunteers Week

5 June 11am - 3pm

Join us on Wednesday 5 June from 11am – 3pm to celebrate the achievements of museum volunteers as part of Volunteers Week and also find out how you can join our friendly volunteer team.

Our volunteer Gallery Enablers will be on hand to share their experiences of what it’s like to work for the town’s much-loved museum and with its collections. They will also encourage discussions around the objects and offer the opportunity for you to handle historical items.

We offer opportunities for all ages to develop new skills, meet new people and make a difference to the community.  Our popular Youth Curators programme is designed for those aged as young as 13 helping to develop skills and be involved in delivering a programme of events and activities.

The work of our volunteers is very important to the museum service and helps us to provide exciting and engaging exhibitions, events and projects.

If you are interested in building up experience for a career in museums and heritage or simply want to put something back into your local community please contact our Senior Education Officer Debra Cox on 01604 838 111 or museums@northampton.gov.uk
