Benefits: Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
Personal Independence Payment (PIP)
From 10th June 2013 the Government have introduced a new benefit for customers that need additional support for a disability or a long term health problem.
The new benefit is called Personal Independence Payment (PIP) and replaces Disability Living Allowance (DLA) for 16 -64 year olds.
If you are already on DLA and aged between 16 and 64, you may be invited to claim PIP from October 2013, but the PIP team will contact you if you are affected.
If you want to know more about whether you are affected you can do this by using the GOV.UK PIP Checker.
If you want to find out more the following information is available:
PIP introduction - Eligibility, how to claim, appeals and more
PIP Factsheet - A factsheet explaining what other benefits are available if you are awarded PIP
