The Anne Frank Awards Nominations

Information

"The good news is that you don't know how great you can be!" Anne Frank

In a world where there is so much concentration on negative things in life, this unique awards scheme celebrates positive contributions people make to communities, with awards at both county and national levels.

Beth from Northampton Youth Forum says: "You should nominate people because without you all the amazing people who are helping the community out so much will go unnoticed, and that seems ridiculous becuase they are AMAZING"

Tiwa from Northampton Youth Forum says: I was really pleased at the awards event when I saw such young people (9yrs upwards) going to get awards to show that children and young people make massive differences. I think that people should nominate people for 2008-09 through our scheme with the Anne Frank Trust so that people that have really helped people out have a chance to get an award"

What are we looking for?

Anne Frank is our inspiration for the Anne Frank Awards. Anne had spirit and ambition and dreamt of a better future for mankind. She had strong values and believed in the humanity of people, even when she was suffering in hiding.

The Anne Frank Awards highlight people showing great personal strength and conviction, for instance standing up for what you believe in, sometimes in the face of immense pressure. Many potential nominees may not even be aware that they have the special qualities we are searching for. They may not know how much they change or have changed the lives of others.

That's where you come in. We need you to think hard (or perhaps it will simply be obvious to you!) about people that you know who possess some, or all, of the following core values which would make them potential candidates to receive an Anne Frank Award:

RESPECT • INTEGRITY • HONESTY • MORAL COURAGE • SOCIAL JUSTICE • DETERMINATION • RESPONSIBILITY • MAKING A DIFFERENCE

The Safer Stronger Northampton Partnership will also be making some special awards to individual young people, educators and groups who help promote community cohesion, helping people feel they live in a place people from different backgrounds can get on well together.

Anne Frank said it only takes a moment to start to improve the world. Our form consists of just 12 questions, most of which are really short and simple to complete - about who you are, who the person is you are nominating, and why you are nominating them.

Please nominate - your nomination could make a huge difference to someone who has no idea how much they are appreciated.

You can leave a form at any time to complete later. Once you have signed in you can check all your saved and completed forms from Your Account page.
